Nonlinear Boat Dynamics

Crafting boat robotics for quantum physics research

Supervisors and Principal Investigators

Steven Tarr, Dr. Daniel Goldman - CRABlab, Georgia Tech

Description

I assisted observing nonlinear boat dynamics under vibrational wave conditions to quantify quantum mechanical Faraday wave threshold applications. If that sentence is too technical, I helped observe how a boat's motion in vibrating water creates special quantum waves.

As I'm no quantum physicist myself, I helped design the dynamic object tracking with computer vision (blur analysis) for data acquisition and helped design the mechanisms for the boat to move.

A demo of this boat can be found here ; however, the files with accurate dynamic tracking have been long lost due to time. This one depicts a failed version of the blur analysis tracking, but still showcases the boat in motion.

Through my work, I assisted creating this American Physical Society (APS) lecture .
