Description
Aiphabet is a non-profit learning platform that teaches artificial intelligence (AI) curriculum to secondary school students. It is based on college AI curriculum and is intended to teach students of all backgrounds and ages about the fundamentals of AI. Please visit aiphabet.org for more details.
Intelligent Tutoring
The backend of Aiphabet uses intelligent tutoring (mostly reinforcement learning as per Yan et al. 2022) to ensure students are always working in the Zone of Proximal Development (ZPD), a key concept of Lev Vygotsky's theory of learning and development. I develop the system that ensures students work within this domain by implementing modern intelligent tutoring systems and studying possible additions relevant to Aiphabet's architecture.
Tailored Curriculum
GPT allows us the ability to customize and tailor our problems and examples towards students' interests, which afford students more interest and understanding of the curriculum. I am currently examining this with a placebo and a testing group, so stay tuned for more details!
AI Curriculum
I assist in currating the AI curriculum and developing it to be friendly for secondary school students.
NSF AISL
The National Science Foundation's (NSF) grant for Advancing Informal STEM Learning (AISL) is a competitive funding opportunity for investigating informal STEM learning experiences and environments. I am currently assisting writing Aiphabet's AISL grant proposal for 2024. More details will be made available once the proposal has been submitted.
